About the Speaker
The Honorable Alan D. Albright
In January of 2018, President Donald Trump nominated Alan D. Albright as the U.S. District Court Judge for the Western District of Texas, Waco Division. Judge Albright was confirmed by the Senate in September of 2018 and was sworn in shortly thereafter. Since taking the bench, Judge Albright has quickly become one of the busiest patent judges in the United States. Judge Albright is an experienced patent litigator who litigated dozens of patent cases on both the plaintiff and defense side while in private practice at Fish & Richardson and Bracewell & Giuliani. Judge Albright is also experienced in trying patent cases, having tried over a dozen such cases in district courts throughout the U.S. and at the ITC. In 2017, Judge Albright was inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers. From 1992 to 1999, Judge Albright also served as a U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Western District of Texas. Judge Albright received his undergraduate degree from Trinity University and received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law.
