Event Overview:
Diminishing returns on medicine and device innovation is challenging the stability of the medical supply chain. This means fewer patients in Japan have access to key drugs compared with those in other advanced countries—a situation that threatens the value and quality of healthcare.
Various stakeholders, including political parties, have mentioned reducing government spending on “low-value care” to minimize the burden on working generations. When Japan’s health insurance coverage and reimbursement price revision starts this fall, “value” will be one of keywords.
To address this, we must reevaluate and redefine the true value of healthcare using insights from health economics, sociology, and patient perspectives. The United States is the world’s most advanced market for healthcare innovation while Japan leads the world in life expectancy. Collaboration between the two nations may bring a brighter future to the people of both.
Strengthening Japan–US collaboration is key. Please join us to explore these crucial topics and create new value for healthcare. Seating is limited, so please reserve yours as soon as possible.
